Travelling with kids: child seat options explained
Rear-facing, forward-facing, booster, half booster — here is how to choose the right child seat for your Auckland Airport transfer.

Families tell us the same thing: the transfer is the part of the trip they worry about most when travelling with young children. Capsules, prams, nappy bags, a tired toddler — the last thing you want is to negotiate a seat at a taxi rank. A pre-booked private transfer with the right seat already fitted changes the whole mood of the arrival.
The four seat types we carry
- Rear-facing for infants up to around 2 years
- Forward-facing for children roughly 2 to 4 years
- Booster seats for children roughly 4 to 6 years
- Half boosters until a child reaches the required height
If you are unsure which category your child fits, include their age and height in the quote form and we will recommend the right option. You can also request a second seat for a sibling in the same booking.
Tell us the ages once. We fit the seats before you arrive.
Prams and extra bags
A pram plus two checked bags plus a cabin bag changes which vehicle we recommend. The RAV4 SUV and the Vellfire MPV both handle family luggage comfortably, and the Hiace van is the easy choice when grandparents or a second family are travelling together. Mention the pram in the additional-notes field and we will plan the boot space accordingly.
